Power of Discipleship...

A Power of Discipleship or POD is a group of people, who are committed to follow Jesus under God's authority, compelled by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission, waiting on God in prayer, going and reaching out to people God has brought across their path and making disciples.

What we do?

  • Gather a POD of 3-4 people

  • Pray for one another

  • Encourage one another in making disciples

  • Pray for people, who God has placed on our hearts

  • Reach out to people God has brought across our path and engage them in activities of common interest to build relationship and trust

  • Learn to tell our story about how we became followers of Jesus and share it with others

  • Learn to tell God's story and explain how a person can know God personally

  • Disciple people, who have decided to follow Jesus, one-to-one and/or in a discovery group

  • Regularly communicate with each other by text, email, Skype, Facebook, or any other way, even face-to-face, about our progress in making disciples

  • Be creative and enjoy the challenge

  • Catch the vision of advancing the Kingdom


POD's are small in size, powerful in prayer and follow Jesus.

"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name there I am with them."

Jesus, Matthew 18:19-20

Have you taken the plunge with simply the bungee rope saving you from certain death as you dropped from the launch platform? Bungee jumping is a popular adventure activity and while I haven't taken the plunge I can imagine the experience is exhilarating. The whole experience of being baptised is also exhilarating and while initially there may be anxiety, even fear if you are afraid of water, baptism is an important step in the faith journey. Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz in Budapest, later Ehrich Weiss or Harry Weiss; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a Hungarian-American stunt performer, noted for his sensational escape acts. Supremacy

I stood there for a few moments, it was cold and the ground damp, however, I noticed the last of the autumn leaves clinging to the branches of two of the four ornamental pear trees in our backyard. I had just finished putting the green waste in the compost bin as I do each day. There was still a colourful display of green, gold, bronze and burgundy leaves. The other two pears had already shed their leaves. The Manchurian Pear in the back corner, the first to lose its leaves, always has an amazing display of colourful leaves each autumn. The pause as I mentioned was brief however, I was acutely conscious of this cycle of life in the face of winter's cold blast, but more than that I had a deep sense of the presence of God.
